Supertech Valve made in one piece forged stainless steel. Supertech uses mainly SAE EV8 (UNS S63008) for the Intake and Exhaust valve. Supertech apply's different heat treatments to this material to obtain different hardness and ductility in accordance to application and budget (Street Performance or Heavy Duty Racing). Supertech use two different kinds of coatings:
(A)Chrome coating: widely used in high performance valves. This is the most common type of coating used by the majority of performance valve manufacturers.
(B)Black Nitrided: this is a hardening treatment that even though it is not widely used as the chrome coating, it has several benefits and is becoming very popular, mainly for European and Japanese applications.
Due to the high revving nature of import engines, black nitride coating is becoming more popular and is the preferred choice of engine builders. At Inline Four, ws only carry the black nitride valves, as we prefer these and suggest them if a valve upgrade is necessary.
Supertech high-compression valves feature a "flat bottom" head design, which will bump compression approx. 0.3-0.5. The black nitride coating helps reduce friction and overall heat dissapation. These valves are a "STD" standard size to the OEM equivalent.
We suggest Supertech Manganese Bronze Valve Guides when upgrading to stainless steel valves.
Sold in a complete set of 16 valves. 8 intake valves and 8 exhaust valves.
