Supertech Manganese Bronze Valve guides are precision-machined from a high quality magnesium alloy and feature a 5.5mm stem. These guides in combination with low friction nitrated valves provide the best solution for performance and durability. When using dissimilar metals, such as stainless steel valves, you want to have the protection of the "bronze" guide, to prevent premature wear and to help reduce friction levels and to prolong overall valve and valve guide longevity.
We suggest that a machinist or machine shop that has installed bronze valve guides before, complete this task. Installing bronze valve guides is not something just "any" machine shop can accomplish. There are specific methods utilized to install these guides properly. Second, like all bronze valve guides, Supertech valve guides must be "reamed" to a "finish bore" after installation. Measure the valve to guide clearance and ream the guide accordingly to get the desired clearance and/or for your particular application.
